Community Service

Chapter 2700 community service activities range from participation in national AARP programs to local mentoring and tutoring projects, food and clothing drives, friendly visits, and much more. Some examples of some of the types of service that Chapter 2700 has participated in include; Food Bank Collection, Safe Place Collection, Back to School Party for Children at the TX State Hospital, Brown Santa, AARP Divided We Fail Day, National AARP Day, Capital Area Reach Out and Read, and others.

AARP Driver Safety

Below are local opportunities for Defensive Driving Courses for AARP members.   The cost is $12.00, for members or  $14.00 for non-members.  You can pay by check or cash.  You need to bring your AARP card and driver license to the meeting.  The training is four hours long with a 10-15 min break at the two-hour point.  You will receive your certificate of training at the end of class.   Locate the class by zip code from the link below.
